The Premier League have officially released the schedule for the 2022/2023 campaign, with several adjustments and tweaks done in consideration of the FIFA Men’s World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Based on the new schedule, the 2022/2023 Premier League season is set to begin earlier than usual on August 6th, 2022 unlike the soon-to-be-concluded 2021/2022 campaign which got underway on August 13th when newly-promoted Brentford defeated Arsenal 2-0 in the Friday night curtain-raiser.

Players competing in the top-tier will get around two-and-a-half months off after the current campaign, although pre-season training and fixtures will be slotted into that break.

Action will then grind to a halt on the weekend of November 12th and 13th, 2022 ahead of the FIFA Men’s World Cup. The 2022 Mundial is set to run from November 21st to December 18th. Anyone involved in that tournament will get a short break before Premier League action resumes on Boxing Day (December 26th, 2022).

From that point onwards, the season will be played to a finish on May 28th, 2023. All 10 matches on the final day of the season will, as always, be played simultaneously.

As usual, 20 clubsides will slug it out in the 2022/2023 Premier League season, with three promoted sides replacing those that suffered relegation in the previous campaign. A total of 380 fixtures spread across 38 matchdays will be confirmed on that date, although many will be subject to change due to television scheduling.

The fixtures for the 2022/2023 Premier League season will be released on Thursday June 16th, 2022 at 9am BST/4am ET.
