Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona have officially unveiled their new home strip for the 2022/2023 football season, which is in an Olympic-styled theme as the city marks thirty years when it hosted sports’ biggest global event.

The Catalan giants are showcasing an innovative, yet simple and elegant kit for the 2022/23 season, inspired by the Barcelona Olympics in the year that the city is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the transformation.

“The new jersey harks back to the landmark event under the tagline ‘The Flame Lives On’. Its design evokes the spirit of that period of regeneration and redefinition, a time when Barcelona opened up to the world and the world opened up to Barcelona.”

30 years ago, the city took a huge leap forward into modernity by hosting the Olympic Games, but at the same time conserving its spirit and roots. As the present era is also one of such major changes to the first team squad, the club has decided to draw on and share that Olympic spirit at a time when its efforts are very much focused on the future.

The kit also includes the logo of the Club’s main partner – a new sponsor named Spotify on the front for the first time, with a big-money agreement reached with the audio and media streaming provider which will see them grace the iconic jersey, as well as a message of solidarity in support of refugees with the UNHCR/ACNUR logo below the number on the back.

The new kit that players will wear on the pitch and the replica jerseys for the fans are constructed with 100 percent recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.
