Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly met with new Chelsea Football Club owner Todd Boehly, over a potential switch to the West London outfit.

According to The Athletic, Boehly met with super agent Jorge Mendes in Portugal last week, and it is believed that Ronaldo’s current situation at United and the idea of the Portuguese international making a move to Chelsea this summer were amongst the topics of conversation during the meeting between the pair.

There had been sweeping changes at Stamford Bridge in the past week, following the takeover of the club by Todd Boehly. First, it was announced that a new board of directors have been selected and Maria Granovskaia will leave the club after nineteen years, while Boehly himself will act as interim sporting director until a replacement is found.

And now, Boehly will be busy in the transfer market with the Stamford Bridge club yet to sign any new players in the window. The Blues will be in the market for an attacker, after agreeing to send Belgian hitman Romelu Lukaku back to Inter Milan on a season long loan deal.

It is unclear at the moment whether Chelsea will put in any concrete offers to bring Ronaldo to the club, German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich were also said to be keeping tabs on Ronaldo’s situation. As things stand, United have no intention of letting their star man leave.

It has also been reported that Ronaldo has huge affinity for United and does not have any issues with new manager Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo is heading into the final year of his current deal at United, after making a sensational return to Old Trafford last summer after leaving the club thirteen years ago.
