Ghana Football Awards 2022

The 4th edition of the Ghana Football Awards ceremony took place at the Grand Arena, Conference Centre on Saturday 2nd July 2022 where Ghanaian footballer stars were awarded for their performance during the 2021- 2022 season. The event witnessed Footballers, football administrators, investors, media, fans, families,  friends and other stakeholders in attendance. 

The highlight of the night was Black Stars and Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku crowned Player of the year. He took over from Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew who won at the previous edition. The second highlight was Mazik Asante's goal scored in the Accra Division Two League adjudged goal of the year. And Senegalese international Sadio Mane won the African Footballer of the year Award category.

Goalkeeper of the year - Iddrisu Abdullai (Bechem United)
The most vibrant club on social media - Kumasi Asante Kotoko
Women's footballer of the year - Grace Asantewaa (Real Betis, Spain)


Home based footballer of the year - Yaw Annor (Asante Gold)
Ghana Premier League Goal King  - Yaw Annor (Asante Gold)
Female team of the year - Ampem Darkoa Ladies)
Odartey Lamptey future star award - Felix Afena Gyan (AS Roma)
Foreign based player of the year - Alexander Djiku (RC Strasbourg)
Thumb up awards - Richard Duah (Samartex FC) and Tom Vernom (Right to dream academy)

Women's coach of the year - Joe Nana Adarkwa (Ampem Darkoa Ladies)
Honouring award - Herbert Adika (He discovered Former captain Abedi Ayew Pele in 1975)
African footballer of the year - Sadio Mane (Senegal)
