THE so-called Dynamic Island was one of the biggest new things to arrive on the most recent iPhone last year.

Apple did away with the notch and made the selfie camera act as mini viewing hub for your content.

So it'll turn into a little music player when you're listening to your favourite tunes.

And it'll show a tappable red recording icon whenever you're doing a screen record.

It's currently only available on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.

The change is certainly a unique take on the pin-hole design which has been on Android phones for a while now.

The whole idea behind it is to free up more screen space, making the front-facing camera as small and unimposing as possible.

Others like Samsung have already gone down a different route by hiding the camera under the screen.

If you like the Dynamic Island on iPhone but want to stick with Android, there's actually a clever way to copy it.

And it'll cost you nothing. One, called dynamicSpot, has already notched up more than a million downloads on Google Play.

The app is free to download and use most features.

But some advanced options are paid-for, costing £3.59.

You can select the apps you wish to use in the Dynamic Island copycat.

And you can even decide how big the bar should appear.

At the moment, the app has mostly positive reviews on Google Play, with a rating of 4.4 out of 5.
