Following the release of his punchy diss song to end the year 2022, Sarkodie, has revealed why he chose the very final day of the year for the release of the song.

The boss of Sarkcess Music during an interview with Metro TV at a New Year’s Eve event put together by Michael Blackson revealed that the decision to release the song on December 31, 2022, was not taken by himself.

According to the multiple award-winning rapper, his team decided to release the song to get it out of the way as they entered into a new year.

Sarkodie added that the team felt it was not necessary for the rapper to drop the song in the new year because they had their attention and energies on totally different things come 2023.

When the interviewer tried to get him to speak about the lines for South African rapper, Nasty C, the ‘Country Side’ hitmaker refused and retorted that the song is there for everyone to listen.

Sarkodie’s ‘Landlord’ was a diss for Nasty C and a reaction to some claims the latter made during a freestyle on Metro FM’s The Touch Down that he turned down two feature requests over the years because he held a grudge against Sarkodie after their first encounter.

According to him, Sarkodie would not shake his hand the first time they met hence holding a grudge against him and promising never to give him a verse should he grow into a man.
