Liverpool and Nike have revealed the new away kit for the upcoming 2023/24 season

The strip brings back a classic that debuted in the 1995/96 season that saw Robbie Fowler enjoy his best goal return for the Reds netting 28 times. Iconic Welsh forward Ian Rush was captain of the side with Roy Evans in charge as the strip featured two green patches in each side.

In a 2023 remake, the crew-neck jersey has a modern take on the kit with a digital effect treatment layering green tones, described as green spark, poison green and pine green. The trim, liverbird and logos are black with white socks accompanied with black and green trim.

Liverpool men's team will debut the kit during their pre-season tour of Singapore when they take on Leicester City meanwhile Matt Beard's women's side will wear the strip for the first during their preparations for the upcoming campaign in late August.

Their reinvention of a classic follows on from the home kit which was inspired by Bill Shankly's final season in charge at Anfield that saw the Reds lift the FA Cup in 1974.

In their release video, the soundtrack is 90s-inspired provided by Liverpool supporter Jamie Unknown with house track The Get Down as they showcase the acceleration in technology also set in a photobooth - as was the release of the home strip - rewinding the current squad back decades.

The away kit will be available in men’s, women’s and junior sizes, and in a match and stadium version. Jerseys can also be personalised with the brand-new Premier League name and number. At launch current squad lists will be used to print on the new home jersey during the pre-order and launch phase. The full 23-24 squad lists will be confirmed ahead of the new season.

The goalkeeper strip that will be worn in venues away from Anfield was also debuted by Alisson Becker which is predominantly black with lighter shades across the kit with green tints for the badge, logos and sponsors. As is seen around Liverpool, the Brazilian models the kit in jeans with black and green Nike AirMax 95s.
