Over 20 Ghanaian personalities storm Nigeria for Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA)

Jackie Appiah, Kalsoume Sinare and other personalities heads to Nigeria for 2023 AMAA

Over twenty Ghanaian personalities flew to Nigeria this morning to represent Ghana at the 19th edition of Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

The awards comes off tomorrow Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Lagos.

The personalities include: musicians, journalists, and top industry players.
Even though Ghana did not grab many nominations in this year’s AMAA compared to previous years, Ghana’s presence in making this year’s edition memorable cannot be ruled out.

From the red carpet represented by Joy Prime’s IB Ben Bako, mcing the main event by Ghana’s celebrated MC and freelance journalist, Ato Turkson, and other stage displays — we can confidently say Ghana will be well represented tomorrow.
Our lenses specifically captured the following celebs: Jackie Appiah, Kalsoume Sinare, Samira Yakubu, Camidoh, Oscar Providencal also known as Inspector Bediakor, Akofa Edjeani Asiedu, Joy Prime’s IB Ben Bako , Journalist and Blogger Attractive Mustapha and others, leaving the shores of Ghana for Nigeria.

The 2023 AMA Awards will showcase excellence in 26 categories, celebrating outstanding achievements in African cinema. Among the highly anticipated categories is “Best Nigerian Film,” which includes top contenders such as “Gangs of Lagos,” “Brotherhood,” “Anikulapo,” “Mami Wata,” “4-4-44 (Four Four Forty-Four),” “L.I.F.E,” and “The Trade.”
The AMA Awards, is presented annually to recognise excellence among professionals working in, or non-African professionals who have contributed to, the African film industry. It was founded by the late Peace Anyiam-Osigwe.
