| Asutsuare Rice Farmers |
Rice is going to waste at Asutsuare in the Osudoku area of the Greater Accra region, as reported by travel content creator Jonilar in a recently published online video. Farmers in the area have voiced their concerns about the lack of patronage for their harvest, a problem that has persisted for quite some time. The warehouses at Area A, a key location for processing much of Ghana's rice, are now overflowing.
Farmers attribute this dire situation to the influx of imported foreign rice. They note that local stores nationwide are stocked with foreign rice, which is in high demand, leaving little room for locally grown varieties. This trend has significantly impacted the sale of local rice.

Additionally, the farmers highlighted the high cost of production as a major challenge. The expenses associated with farm inputs such as fertilizer, labor, and the various stages of rice production have become prohibitively expensive.
Smart of Osudoku TV, who first reported the story, revealed that the leadership of the rice farmers has not been actively addressing this issue. Despite their efforts, they have found it challenging to make any significant progress.
